I have an old Canon FTB (1971) and a Minolta x-700 (1985) both have several lenses. I am now purchasing a digital Nikon d5000.  The camera shop is offering to buy my old equipment to use towards the purchase of my new camera. My question is since I have not used either camera in several years, what would be a reason to keep the cameras considering how digital seems to be pushing out film with the exception of portrait photography.
