Modern digital cameras are truly astonishing tools! It is remarkable, the photographic challenges they digitally solve in an instant to capture beautiful images. To use your camera to its full capability you’ve got to be familiar with its functions. Unfortunately, this means you’ll have to read (then re-read- repeat many times) the manual!

The area which the camera uses to automatically focus is determined by rotating the selector.

The vast majority of landscape photography is done with wide angle lenses. One, very common use is capturing wide and dramatic panoramas. Often, however, the scene’s grandeur and majesty doesn’t compress well into a single photograph.

Range of Focus (Hyperfocal) The area in a photograph, from near to far, which appears to be in sharp focus is called “depth of field” (probably better called “range of focus”).

What does “tack sharp” mean? It means everything in the image that should be sharply in focus is sharply in focus. You know it when you see it.
